Get Back Up!

The theme of the conference is "Get Back Up!" As men, we are often faced with difficulties that cause us to initially fail. It is less important that we have failed then that we 'Get Back Up' from our fall. Part of getting back up is being willing to address it and face it head on with our brothers in Christ. There is a great mix of speakers and topics!

Dr. Sam Serio from Los Angeles will be speaking on getting back up from sexual issues, whether it is past abuse, pornography, or affairs. He is an expert on the topic and has even written a book called, "Sensitive Preaching to the Sexually Broken". I highly recommend this book to anybody who has sexual issues in their past or even their present.

Tom Covert from British Columbia is a young man who has recently graduated from Teen Challenge and has turned his life around completely! His testimony focusses on addiction and overcoming it. Addiction can involve alcohol, drugs, sex, gambling, or even your phone. He has an inspiring story to tell and is becoming a sought-after speaker.

Al Quinlan is a successful real estate agent from Barrie who, at one point, felt the need to end it all. His story of dealing with mental health issues is likely to strike a nerve with many who hear his story as we can all relate to the pressures faced in everyday life. All will see that you can never tell who is struggling with their mental health, and that we all need to look out for each other.

Ian Wilson is a former Barrie pastor who is not afraid to tell it like it is. I have always been drawn to Ian as he is a no-BS type of guy and speaks to men so that we can understand. Ian will be talking about regaining and renewing our faith when we think we are failing in that regard. Ian once told me that he owns the city of Barrie for God, and I believe him! His boldness and analogies will rejuvenate you!
